The maiden voyage of the Zvarte Zee

My father has built a 1:90 model of the ship "Zvarte Zee" (dutch for black sea). It is an ocean-going tug.

The model was not motorized and the kit provided no help to make it suitable for actual water contact. Yet, my father took a great effort to make this possible: He added an electrical motor, increased the weight with lead, added diesel engine sound and even working green and red position light, aswell as a spotlight.
Also, it must be considered that the kit was not an ordinary plastic kit that provides everything in its final shape - for example the railing had to be bent and cut into shape as it was only supplied as plain straight wire!

The photos you see are from it's maiden voyage on our local lake, with me taking photos from a rented pedal boat.
